As learners at an IB PYP school, a goal we all have is to demonstrate international-mindedness.
This means that we are open-minded towards others who have different beliefs, values, and experiences and that we also understand the inter-connectedness of the complex, dynamic world in which we live.
How do we learn to embody international-mindedness in our daily lives? We do this by focusing on the ten attributes of the IB Learner Profile: Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Thinker, Communicator, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-taker, Balanced, and Reflective.
In Grades 5 and 6, every year we create posters representing each attribute to hang in the classroom as reminders of what it means to be internationally-minded. This school year, we have applied our research skills to find out about a famous person and how an attribute could be seen in an action taken in that person's life. Afterward, we created these mixed-media portraits in Mr. Lubin's art class!
Please enjoy looking at the beautiful posters below!
Have a wonderful weekend!
